There is a petition on UK Government and Parliament site to allow pets in cabin to and from UK on https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/650194

Would be fantastic if as many people as possible would sign, finishes beginning of May

I guess it comes done to how much people are prepared to pay.I for one would not like to allow dogs onboard and I know for the little handbag dogs some airlines allow them on.

I think your petition may be misplaced.

Carriage of live animals in cabins, be they pets or other, will be a matter of individual airline policy, governments cannot dictate to them who or what they permit to be carried.

The UK Government does not allow any pets to travel in the cabin to enter into the UK from any airline hence the petition.

It would be individual airlines policy but most do allow them to other countries than the UK. It is government policy too that restricts the airlines.

Most dogs or pets are far better behaved than some of the little brat humans on board the aircraft. Or even come to that the stag and hen groups. Maybe you could advocate to ban them too?

Not really a very helpful response.I don’t usually advocate bans on things or people and I’m well aware of the way some people act on aircraft. There are plenty of sanctions available but it seems to me that law enforcement does not really treat misbehaving on aircraft as a serious offence.Saying that I still wouldn’t want to sit next to someone’s dog on an aircraft.

Dogs are far better behaved then some of the screaming kids or the drunk people.

Two things being conflated here, the behaviour of a tiny minority of humans and access to flights for pets. They're not comparable.

I'd happily sign a petition that UK airlines should insist passengers stay in their seats for the duration of flights except when using the toilet! The airlines seem far too relaxed about passengers standing and talking to each other.

As to pets, as someone who is allergic to dogs how could I be safe to travel? It's just a ridiculous idea.

This is yet another case where the selfishness of pet owners think they deserve the same rights as humans.

Where can I vote NO!

Much of my previous life involved visiting Clients in their homes. I always went well dressed and smart, as I personally would have considered it a breach of manners not to have done so. However, despite not being afraid of dogs, having been brought up with them, I was in the end fairly anti anywhere they were going to be.

In truth, many of the houses smelled of dog, and secondly, few of them were remotely trained and were permitted to come bounding and leaping up, including those breeds which tend to drool heavily.

In view of this experience over many years, I certainly would have no wish to occupy a cabin in which dogs were permitted, let alone possibly have to sit in a seat previously occupied by someone’s canine companion. To say nothing of the possible ‘accidents’ and resultant hygiene problems. Neither do I like them in restaurants.
